Think Someone Is Listening?

Covert listening devices come in several forms, and a proper sweep is built to catch all of them:

• Radio-frequency transmitters. Classic bugs that broadcast audio to a nearby receiver — detectable by their signal when transmitting.
• GSM bugs. Devices with a SIM card that call out over the mobile network, so the listener can be anywhere in the world. These transmit only when active, so timing and technique matter.
• Voice-activated recorders. Devices that store audio to be retrieved later. They transmit nothing, so they are found by physical search, not by signal.
• Devices hidden in everyday objects. Bugs concealed in chargers, plug adaptors, clocks, pens, smoke alarms and soft furnishings — the ordinary items no one looks at twice.

Why an app cannot do this

Apps that claim to detect bugs read the phone's own sensors and are unreliable in both directions — false alarms and, more dangerously, false all-clears. A dormant recorder emits no signal for an app to catch, and a GSM bug is silent until it is called. Professional radio-frequency detection combined with a methodical physical inspection is the only way to be confident, and it is exactly what we bring to you.

We work through the vehicle or property methodically, combining electronic detection with a hands-on inspection of the places devices are actually hidden. In a car that means the interior, the OBD area, and the objects left inside; in a home or office it means sockets, chargers, alarms, fittings and furnishings, room by room. We check for transmitting devices by signal and locate dormant recorders and concealed units by hand.

If we find a device, we show it to you and advise on the right next step. Where it relates to stalking or an abusive relationship, that means preserving it as evidence and involving the police rather than simply removing it — and we can document the find to support you. If we find nothing, you get that answer clearly, and the reassurance that comes with it.

If you suspect a device but have not yet had a sweep, a little care protects you. The instinct to search frantically, or to say out loud that you think you are bugged, is understandable — but if a device is there, it tells whoever placed it that you know, and they may simply remove it before it can be found or documented. Keeping normal is the stronger position.

Practically, that means not discussing your suspicion in the space you are worried about — have that conversation elsewhere, or in writing away from the room. Avoid tearing objects apart looking for a bug, which can damage evidence and tip your hand. And arrange the sweep discreetly, at a time when the person you are concerned about will not know it is happening.
